At Isla Medical Foundation, we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of healthcare in underserved communities. Our mission is to provide medical services, education, and support to those who need it most. We believe that everyone deserves access to healthcare, regardless of their location or financial status. By partnering with local organizations and volunteers, we are able to reach remote areas and offer life-saving medical care, preventive health education, and resources to build a healthier future for all.

We minimize the need for electricity by having cross ventilation and natural kirai roofing that insulates us from the heat of the day, which means we don't need air conditioning. All our guest houses are solar powered to lower our electrical load and to help our guests understand how much energy they use day-to-day.

Nearly all our employees are from the local area, trained from scratch.  We value honesty, fairness, and community development, treating our employees well, working closely with the local community, and creating opportunities for locals to thrive in their hometowns. Sharing, gratitude, and maintaining a positive atmosphere are key aspects of our approach.

Traditional Values

We are open to all cultures, genres & genders, so long as they are kind, but we prefer to take a step back from the rush to modernity.  Farming, crafts, arts, real books, slow food, conversation, are all becoming increasingly scarce today, we are here to support these endangered values.

FAQ

Your questions, answered

  • CAN ACCOMMODATION BE BOOKED WITHOUT FOOD & ACTIVITIES?
    No. Portibi Farm is quite remote and we want to ensure our guests have the best experience possible, so we offer a full board package. The menu and activities we offer are some of the reasons our guests continue to come back, year after year. You won't be dissapointed.
  • WHAT TIME IS CHECK IN / OUT?
    We encourage our guests to arrive by 7 a.m. to enjoy breakfast at 8 a.m. and have ample time to settle into their lodge. Check-out is after lunch, around 2 p.m. This is also very flexible according to your schedule and availability in our space as well.
  • HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN STAY IN ONE LODGE?
    The number of guests we can accommodate per lodge varies depending on the bungalow - check out the lodges page to see details specific to each lodge. In our Leuit Glamping Village, we can accommodate up to 4 guests per Leuit.
  • ARE THERE POWER OUTLETS IN THE LODGES?
    We have three lodges which have power outlets. Those are: The Library, Babeh Imah, and Loft Duku Atas. For those staying in our other lodges or in the Leuit Glamping Village, we provide plenty of powering up stations in our main buildings so you can charge up during the day.
  • ARE THE LODGES HAVE AIR CONDITION OR FAN?
    No
  • DO YOU HAVE BABY COTS?
    Yes, we can set up a baby cot in our lodges.
  • IS THERE A WIFI ON THE FARM?
    We do have wifi at the main lounge, but not in the lodges. We try to encourage as little wifi use as possible, and we have a lot of other fantastic activities that allow you to escape from your laptop/phone for a few days. You'll also still be able to access cellular data for those emergency emails and Instagram posts :)
  • CAN ACTIVITIES BE BOOKED WITHOUT ACCOMMODATION?
    While we prefer for groups to stay with us to get the full experience, we are also happy to discuss day outings on Portibi Farm.
  • CAN I ADD ACTIVITIES TO THE PORTIBI PACKAGE?
    Yes, you can add additional activities. Please see our activities page, and make sure to let us know before arrival which activities you'd like to do.
  • ARE THERE ACTIVITIES SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AT PORTIBI?
    Yes, most our activities are suitable for children. We also have a slide/climbing frame in our garden and a play area with books and toys adjacent to our dining room.
  • WHAT'S THE LARGEST GROUP SIZE YOU CAN ACCOMMODATE?
    We can accommodate 35-40 in shared accommodation. For food, we can accommodate 100 for lunch banquets and up to 70 for seated events.
  • CAN GROUPS COME FOR A DAY?
    While we prefer for groups to stay with us to get the full experience, we are also happy to discuss day outings on Portibi Farm.
  • DO YOU ORGANISE TRANSPORT FOR GROUPS?
    Yes, please let us know prior to arrival.
  • DO YOU ORGANISE FACILITATORS FOR GROUPS?
    Yes, we have local facilitators who can run a variety of different workshops for groups. Please contact us in advance if you would like to arrange.
  • WHERE IS PORTIBI FARM?
    Portibi Farm is situated 1,5 hours drive from Jakarta and 1 hour from Bogor. Our full address is: Jalan Ekologika No.7 (masuk dari Jalan Alas Wangi) Cibuntu RT03, Pesawahan, Cicurug, Jawa Barat, Indonesia
  • HOW DO I GET TO PORTI​BI FARM?
    You can arrive hear via bus, train, self-drive or private transfers. Please see our getting to Portibi page for more details.
  • DOES PORTIBI ORGANISE TRANSPORT?
    Yes, we are happy to arrange private transport to and from Portibi Farm. Our usual pick-up points are Jakarta, Bogor and the airport. Contact us to arrange.
